In order to safeguard pupils and staff, we follow guidance issued by the DCFS (Government Department for Children, Families and Schools)  in May 2007 which gives schools the opportunity to randomly screen pupils. This process in there to act as a deterrent should any pupil attempt to take something into school which can harm or attempt to harm anyone at the School.

Screening involves the use of a metal detecting scanner and pupils will be asked to remove anything in their possession which may cause the scanner to react.

Should any item be found which could harm others, then the police may be called.
